Saturday Success

Despite a record of just 3-6 (they have won the last three) on Fridays this season, the Pirates have really bounced back in Saturday games. Here’s a look at how the Bucs have fared on Saturdays:

April 7th
Pirates beat Phillies, 2-1

April 14th
Pirates lose to Giants, 4-3

April 20th
Pirates beat Cardinals, 2-0

April 27th

May 5th
Pirates beat Reds, 3-2
James McDonald shuts down the Reds on Cinco de Mayo

May 12th
Pirates beat Astros, 5-2
Pirates win on Joel Hanrahan bobblehead night

May 19th
Pirates beat Tigers, 4-3
Andrew McCutchen hits two bombs in Motown matinee

May 26th
Pirates beat Cubs, 3-2
Matt Hague walk-off HBP

June 2nd
Pirates lose to Brewers, 5-1
Bedard scuffles against Milwaukee

June 9th
Pirates beat Royals, 5-3
Bucs defeat Kansas City in their Homestead Grays uniforms

Overall Saturday record: 8-2

Hopefully the Pirates can keep the ball rolling on Saturdays, but they face some tough opponents in their next few weekend series. The next five Saturday games are as follows:
