Pitcher Bob Veale
Veale set the Pirates record for most strikeouts in a season when he sent down 276 batters during the 1965 campaign. In 13 MLB seasons, he struck out 1,703 batters, with 1,652 of those coming with the Pirates. No relation to recent Pirates southpaw, Donnie Veal:
